Is there a saying that if a guest outstays his/her welcome at a banquet it puts the host in an embarrasing situation. Viola! !! I just wish "HE" would just shut up and go away-just change the name of changi airport etc-enough is enough-we can decide our own destiny and save $$$. It's a sad thing to outlive relevance in today's world. Go spend your/our money and have a good life.

Thank you for writing this. Perhaps one day we'll be able to see such insightful commentary in our local media and newspapers. We can only hope.

Catherine Lim

I was moved by your letter for it carries weighty burden and immense sincerity for the good of Singapore future. While I am less eloquent than your writing, I share your views.

I sense the danger that our parliament may have enacted a strong "body of laws" that is effective for good men government to bring good life to all. Conversely, it could also be efficient tool for destruction if bad government were to be elected, who is in the position to use such strong "body of law" for their belief or agenda.

Who knows the future. We cannot fathom how the next generations would think and vote. The same strong "body of law" can be used for any government that could be elected by future generations.

I have no answer. I have only burden.
